Just Amazed

I have been up on the computer filling out applications to arts and crafts stores and putting together a portfolio of my art, along with a resume to send to companies looking for Illustrators. I am waiting for my rash to go away, its still hanging on, anyway.   In my research of different places, I came across a very amazing article about a man who passed away recently, who had been married 67 amazing years with his beloved wife.
I guess to a great deal of folks, this maybe not be such an amazing thing, only how much this man was loved.  He went above and beyond the call to help those in need.  Served in World War II and witnessed some amazing moments during that war, not to mention his bravery.
What struck me as so amazing, was the similarities he shared with my own dad.  I can only hope and pray that my parents will celebrate that many years together.  I kept thinking, how close to home it all was to me and that no matter where you are from, the miles just fade and its like staring into a mirror of your own reflection.
My father, helped his grandfather work on a farm with draft horses, just down the way from Grady Memorial Hospital in Delaware, Ohio.  All that my dad knows about horses and farming came from his grandpa.  My dad fought bravely in the Korean War as an Army Ranger and Sergeant.  He used his G.I bill for his education in Mechanics, learning how to fix aircraft engines as well.   I always had deep respect for Veterans but understanding similarities of these men, made me appreciate and respect them even more.  My father, like this man always put in many hours of work, but always found time to spend with us kids.  Men like that are so hard to find
It makes a person bring to light just how much we are the same, even though we don't even know the other. Different but same, is it really that, don't we find the more we find out about each other, slowly the walls come down.
